چکیده
The quality of wine grapes in dry climates greatly depends on utilizing optimal amounts irrigation water during the growing season. Robust and accurate techniques are essential for assessing crop status grapevines so that both over-irrigation excessive deficits can be avoided. This study proposes a robust strategy to assess grapevines. Experiments were performed Riesling (Vitis vinfera L.) planted rows oriented north–south subjected three regimes vineyard maintained at an experimental farm southeastern Washington, USA. Thermal red–green–blue (RGB) images acquired season, using thermal imaging sensor digital camera installed ground-based platform such cameras orthogonally canopy. A custom-developed algorithm was created automatically derive canopy temperature (Tc) calculate stress index (CWSI) from thermal-RGB images. relationship between leaf potential (Ψleaf) CWSI investigated. results revealed proposed combining RGB determine used There correlation Ψleaf with R-squared value 0.67 measurements It also found shaded (east) side achieved better compared sunlit (west) around solar noon. allowed real-time assessment commercial vineyards may decision support systems grapevine management.

Assessing the Reliability of Thermal and Optical Imaging Techniques for Detecting Crop Water Status under Different Nitrogen Levels
Efficient management of irrigation water is fundamental in agriculture to reduce the environmental impacts and to increase the sustainability of crop production. The availability of adequate tools and methodologies to easily identify the crop water status in operating conditions is therefore crucial. This work aimed to assess the reliability of indices derived from imaging techniques—thermal in...

Climate change variables have rarely been analyzed specifically for the growing season of crops. In this study, changes in minimum (Tmin) and maximum temperature (Tmax), daily maximum saturated vapor pressure (VPsat) and estimated daily VPD weighted for transpiration (VPDtran) were examined at five locations in Iran over 40 years during the growing seasons of chickpea and maize. The results of ...
متن کاملSelecting Canopy Zones and Thresholding Approaches to Assess Grapevine Water Status by Using Aerial and Ground-Based Thermal Imaging
Aerial and terrestrial thermography has become a practical tool to determine water stress conditions in vineyards. However, for proper use of this technique it is necessary to consider vine architecture (canopy zone analysis) and image thresholding approaches (determination of the upper and lower baseline temperature values). During the 2014–2015 growing season, an experimental study under diff...
متن کاملHigh Resolution Multispectral and Thermal Remote Sensing-Based Water Stress Assessment in Subsurface Irrigated Grapevines
Precision irrigation management is based on the accuracy and feasibility of sensor data assessing the plant water status. Multispectral and thermal infrared images acquired from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) were analyzed to evaluate the applicability of the data in the assessment of variants of subsurface irrigation configurations. The study was carried out in a Cabernet Sauvignon orchard l...
